It’s Really Happening
So I’ve had a couple of internet free days visiting family back in London and had intended to post up my take on Illa J’s Yancey Boys album today. However, there seems to be something going on over the next twelve hours or so which seems to have a lot of people excited and otherwise distracted.
I’m one of them. Please don’t get this wrong America.

man, that yancey boys is HORRIBLE. the beats are cool, dilla made some of my favorite songs ever back in the labcab days … but damn! illa j is one of the worst things to ever happen to a dilla track. i’m just being honest. it’s like they’re trying to milk his fans dry … what’s next? his mother gonna start rapping and drop an lp? and considering all these dilla fund raisers and talk about his medical bills, i really didnt need to hear illa j’s nonsense about getting money “easy like 123 or abc” … and taking chicks out on dates in his bentley (lol)…
